Job Description:
A fiber optic technician installs, tests, maintains, and repairs fiber-optic communication systems used for internet, telecom, CCTV, data centers, and enterprise networks.
Typical work includes:
Pulling and routing fiber cables
Splicing fiber using fusion splicers
Testing lines with OTDR and power meters
Installing ODFs, patch panels, and network racks
Troubleshooting signal loss and connectivity issues
Working on FTTH (Fiber to the Home) broadband connections
